If you use your imagination, you can see plenty of tractor constellations on a clear night

Anyway, for those that could see the moon the last few nights. 2 or 3 nights ago, there were two bright stars close to the moon. The brightest was real close and positioned at about 1 or 2 oclock. The other a little farther away pos. about 8 oclock. Looked real neat so took the wife's camera with the big lense to work the next night ( or 2 nights later) for some pics and they (the stars) had moved. The bright one was dropped and farther away and pos aboutb 5 oclock. The lower one wasn't visible anymore... Guess they were planets? Anyone know what they are?
And no, there were no pink elephants holdin them up with strings.....

www.transitofvenus.org/ You can see this on June 5.
shadowandsubstance.com/ Is this the one??? I am in the Southern Hemisphere so don"t know what you see there..

The brighter one is Venus, the dimmer one Jupiter. If you look at them, then look left, about 10oclock facing south, youll seen an orange looking star, thats Mars.

There's a very good app for your iphone called "Night Sky" You hold it up and turn around and it identifys constellations, planets and even sattelites.

The ones I use the most are facebook, maps, the weather channel max, camera, photobucket, tv guide (when I'm at the new place since we only have an antenna), Craigslist Pro ( which I like better than the actual website), ebay, TuneIn Radio, Auto Zone, Chordmaster (when I forget a guitar chord fingering), Clock (alarm clock and timer)

These are all on the iphone. I really prefer the apple aps as opposed to the android stuff. I have a nook reader and using the internet with the android system is aggravating.

Yep...venus and jupiter. I asked my kids the same thing and they googled it up. Any of you Va/ Md folks see the rockets out of wallops island yesterday at 5:00 AM? I saw them while I was feeding the horses and pigs.

Nice one (free) Allsport LE. You enter your age and weight. You go for a walk or bike ride. it tells you when you are done, har far you went how long it took, if you stopped, average speed, top speed, highest elevation, AND how many calories you burned.
Looks like we need an "Iphone apps thresd"
