This farm was a dairy that did not take real good care of their stuff. Did not even wash all of the tractors before the sale. They did not sell very well. The implements sold very well.

Bunch of old round bale hay feeders that sold for more than new. People will go nuts at sales some times.

I always say they get auction drunk when they pay more than new price!!!! But that's what makes the world go round.

By and large, many of the farm auctions are for people who are too lazy to work their own deals. They need the energy of a fast talking person with auction jeberish to screw them out of their money.
The whole function of an auctioneer is to move every piece at the highest price possible. They sometimes use "plants" (people bidding that actually work for the auction company) and all kinds of tactics to get you to pay more.
There are still a few good deals every now and then but your odds are better in Las Vegas.

Some guy at an auction a couple of weeks ago here gave 3500 dollars for a JD 630 that had pretty much all bad sheet metal, lacked WFE and fenders, and had questions about the rear end.
A fair number of auctioneers here will have "ringers" in the crowd to push prices. I would have gone to a sale this past week but I knew how things were going to shake out in terms of what I was interested in. Going to a sale in a few weeks and am hoping the unattractive bill of goods will help me with my item.

I agree with you Tx Jim but those end wheel drills around here are hot items. They have been now for several years now. This one did have grass seed and a main box agitator but it did have just single disk openers. It had just been used and every thing was shine and look real clean. It was the only clean piece on the whole sale.
