Clintonville, I drive thru it everynight to get to work. It's all over the news here and a few people are leaving. I do not think anyone has a clue whats causing it but I've heard everything from kids messing around to the end of the world is near.

Same "stuff" happening in Montello, WI about 80 miles South of Clintonville.....now that the news on this has gone national, there are reports of this "stuff" happening in other countries.........

I don't believe the "giant earthworm theory"..:>)

Hey theres been a huge sound like a mile high gravel crusher that we've been hearing here in Victoria,B.C. It sounds like its coming from across the water around Port Angeles,Wash. Several times a day and no-one knows what it is.

I've heard some doom & gloomers claiming the New Madrid fault was going to pop in a spectacular way, how spectacular? Chicago will be on gulf of Mexico and what's left of Florida won't be a peninsula. My own non-scientific theory either some action along the New Madrid, erosion of under laying rock formations due to water table changes or possible relocation of rock formations between the Wisconsin river valley and the Niagara Escarpment/Michigan basin .

For what it's worth, Moodus,Conn. has had these noises for hundreds of years.... even the indians talked of it. I suspect if you look up on the computer, "Moodus Noises" you will find more than any one person should know. It is because of fault slippage. There is a lot of water in the fault zone and sort of lubricates it so it gives way frequently rather that torqueing up for the big one!

No around here all we hear is sucking sounds,sort of like when the toilet ends it cycle.Been like that for years.LOL.

we had a wiseguy in the neighborhood a couple years ago filling paint cans, garbage bags, etc with oxygen/acetylene and setting off. Boom doesn't begin to describe what that was like. Couple times I saw the flash, shook the whole neighborhood, thought it would have had to blow out some windows. He must have finally ran his torch empty cause the blasts stopped.

News media idiots have some citidiots and Baltimorons who moved up this way talking about some 'booms' we can hear from time to time when the weather is right. Can't convince them it's from the Army testing big guns down at Aberdeen Proving Ground, about 25 miles away.

Clintinville Wisconsin had a small earthquake,
Tuesday evening.It's now believed that those
noises were underground faults shifting!

If there's an Army post within 25 miles away, I'd have to bet on it being the culprit.


Those boys are known for making some noise.

Supposed to be the biggest Army base in the US. Shoot off 105mm Howitzers and M1-A1 battle tank main cannons of about the same diameter.
