well my new to me 1850 will be here Friday. I have been trying to find a few parts and having no luck.
I'm not sure as to the manufacturer of the cab but i believe its a factory cab as it fits inside the fenders. it has heat and ac but it does not work. I've been trying to find a place that might have Oliver cab parts but no luck yet. i also need the cab seal that goes around the hood and the engine temp gauge.

any one know of a good place that may have the parts for the AC and and the cab seal?

You might have to get creative or find a good parts man. I bet a lot of the AC parts you are looking for are common to other automotive applications, you might have to take the part off and do a treasure hunt at NAPA or on the internet, might also help you build a system that'll use R134a or the newer refrigerant. With the part in hand I'd try Vintage Air or one of the other companies that does A/C parts for old cars and street rods

Hey HoosierHog,
I posted a picture of my 1850 on your posting a few days back. I was jokingly asking you if you want to trade me my 1850 gasser for your "new to you" 1850 diesel. Anyway, if you look back at my picture, my cab looks a lot like yours. I have a Year-A-Round cab on mine. My only has heat, no A/C. If yours is a Year-A-Round cab, it should have a sticker in the back under the rear window, about in the middle of the cab. That is if it wasn't painted over. I know Year-A-Round is still in business. I don't know if they do much tractor cab manufacturing anymore though. I don't know where to get the items you are asking for, but they might have parts available for your cab. If you Google them, I believe you would find more info on them. Hope this helps. By the way, your 1850 diesel looks really nice!

Looks like a Year-A-Round cab to me,so that will get ya started in the right direction. What AC parts do you need? Most AC parts are generic Check on ebay for the temp gauge.Lots of other Oliver models have the same gauge.

It is a "Year-Around" cab. Model Qt-1. Made in Mankato Mn. I live 3 miles from the old plant. All boarded up. I just looked in the phone book to see if still listed. Nope. For the cab seal just take a piece of cardboard and cut a pattern to fit the profile of the hood. Then trace that on to a piece of tin and cut it out of tin. Then get a piece of weather strip from anywhere and fit it around bottom of tin and bolt it to cab frame. The holes should still be there.

Hey Kow Farmer

what size plow are you pulling with yours. Im looking at a oliver 546 4-16 that my neighbor has but have not settled on a price he also has a white 252 16ft disc he pulls with a heston 980 without duals. he wants 750 for the disc. do you think my 1850 can handle it. also i think your right the cab must be a Year-A-Round cab I'll look them up.
thanks for your help.

well the tractor had a nasty fuel leak at the pump the dealer is fixing, it needs a temp gauge and the heat and ac need lots of tlc. I need a seal around the hood and a latch for one of the front windows. I would like to upgrade the lights. also when i get it I will go over it more in depth and make a more thorough list but it should be a short list and easy fixes minus the ac.
thanks guys for all the help

sorry for the confusion

Hog N Style is a friend of mine and he uses my laptop alot. so when i post things sometimes my comp puts that screen name instead of HoosierHog

Sorry hogNstyle didnt mean to pust under your name

I have a 4-14's Case plow. I got this plow last year from a good friend of mine for an unbelievable low price. It works great though. I also bought a 13' Ford disk from my late neighbor's estate sale last summer. The 1850 pulls the disk easily without duals on my rolling hill ground. My cab is a Year-A-Round QT-1 cab. Not the best, but sure beats being out in the weather.

QT-1 year a round.I dont see a compressor or a condencer.I dought that it actually has air, just a 'fresh air' blower.YAR made 1000s of cabs.they were put on all brands/models/types of tractors.I have one on a 826 Farmall.

Maybe I'm asking to much with a 16 ft disc. I pull a 8.5ft disc with my 45hp ford 4000. What do you think I have duals and they are liquid filled but I don't want to ruin the tractor either?

If your not able to find the cab seal, on our 706 we bought a seal kit from JC whitney for auto and truck use. It works fine for our cab seal, we even bought new seals for the window panes in the cab. Both were used in the auto industry. Hope this helps.

LOU

if you have duals and weights you should be ok with that size disk. Depends on how many hours are on the engine. If its got 7000 hours on it, you might not want to pull that size disk.

5-16 or 4-18 Oliver or White plow will pull easy
6-16 will work in most ground unless you have real nasty stuff
White 252 16' disc is a nice size, might even warm it up enough to throw heat out the heater
750 is a good to great price depending on condition of bearings and blades
you will enjoy that 1850D

so the plan for this tractor is

tillage
4-16 plow
16ft disc
18ft field cultivator
7 shank chisel plow

hay
round baler ( eventually )
12ft NH 499 MOCO

I am not dead set on size of tillage tools but that is what I am thinking of right now i have found all of them but the field cult.

it will be a big upgrade from 3-14 plow and 8ft disc 12ft cultivator but i took of 2 out side shanks on each side. now my ford 4000 will be on the baler, seed drill and the IH 800 planter and 4 row cultivator

I would say it"s either a Year-Around or a Hiniker Model 1300, like I had on the 4020 in the 70s. Both made in Mankato, MN. AC parts would be generic, seal rubber? If not the mfgr, try auto shops, JC Whitney, etc.

I agree that the cab resembles a Year-A-Round or Hiniker.as they also would fit between factory fenders. It's been a long time since I sold/installed those cabs. I was thinking the AC Condenser if equipped stuck 8 to 10 inches out the rear of the cab above the rear window hinges. Is the AC compressor hidden under the hood??????

Well it's not "factory" parts but NostalgicAirparts.com
has all the necessary parts and sure helped me understand what I had to do to get mine running.

There is or was?a co.called Eagle Air that built and installed Air in Farm-Const..You might have to dig but I bought parts 2 yrs ago from them for my JD with their system in it.I think they are out of Mn.,when we had a QT-1 cab, every thing was under the hood and in the cab.

I think thats a Year round QT-1. I had one but removed it, mine did not have ac. If the insulation is not in the cab it will be very noisy inside. Cab kits are available for them. Around here 4-16"s would work nicely, 16" disc might be a lot though.

Well I've been using a 8 ft disc on a tractor half it's power and weight I have pulled a 10 ft with but it was a bit much . So I figure 16ft would be just about right. I have used a friends jd 4010 with a 14ft disc and could have pulled more I think. My neighbor is gonna let me try the 16 if the tractor struggles to much I'll look for a 14Ft. I'm more concerned about finding a good field cultivator for it. I pull a 10th jd 3pt with a ford 4000 and it's works well. But none of my neighbors have a cultivator smaller than 24ft so I don't have the luxury of trying befor buying.

Just remember,it's a heck of a good tractor and it's new to you,but it's not a new tractor. 14 foot disc and 14 foot field cultivator would give you some reserve power and probably extend the life of the tractor too. If you have any gates around you'll be glad you went with 14 foot instead of 16 too.

Have a 2255 that I made the heat/air work in. Let's just say I had to be a little creative to get everything to work. My HVAC guy for the house and business made up some of the parts I needed up in the cab. I just couldn't find what I needed so it had to be fabricated. I used a piece of black copper pipe insulation for the seal, trimmed it down to look as good as possible.

I think your right. Im gonna try my neighbors disc its a white 252 disc I talked to him this after noon and he said that in our soil it should be a good match. he pulls it with a Heston 980 and its in poor shape with 9000hrs but ill try it and see if it works it to hard ill find a 13-14ft disc. I am gonna use my 12ft field cultivator, i took off some shanks on each end to pull it with my ford 4000 but it has all new sweeps and new paint. I also have a 7 shank pull type chisel i got for free I am going to fix up.
thanks for the advice i really appriciate it
