Can anybody tell me the spindle nut size for 953 wagon

Take one down to NAPA or an auto parts store. They're pricy from JD- had to get one last year.

I can't tell you the size but the part number is John Deere S2583D. JD Parts tells me the part number is no longer available but your John Deere dealer can find you a substitute. This probably doesn't help you much but I have a 953 manual and had a 953 gear so couldn't resist trying to answer your question.
