Long day...

I envy you.

I put in 6 hours on my feet today working at customer site. I had to come home, take pain pill and ice my back. I am just not up to speed yet.

2.5 weeks since back surgery.

I hear you, can't quit understand the strain of operating equipment unless you've been there and done it. I ran the tree saw on the skid loader 6 hours today between chores, it wore me out.

Don't overdo it. I don't know what kind of surgery you had, but when I had a laminectomy (ruptured disc removed), forty years ago, it was a 'coupla months before I was anywhere near full speed.

I was working as a printer at the time, which involves spending a lot of time standing around watching a press run. To this day, the worst thing I can do to my back is stand still in one spot for any amount of time.

i here ya

i spent all day doing the same on my deere.... i'd rather spend it sitting there than at my desk... i sleep better

What were you doing? We like to figure a 32 ft equip, at 5 mph, or 20 ac per hour. Or 12 hours is 240 acres.

When I was on the road. I would have days like that.

Leave the house at 2AM drive five hours to the job site. Work four to whenever on the job. Then drive two hours back to a town with hotels. Stop by and get a six pack and something to eat. Take it all to the hotel. Set the beer and food on the table. Sit on the bed and pass out.

Next morning eat what I bought the night before for breakfast. Put the six pack back in the cooler and do it all over again. Some how I just don't miss those days as bad as I thought I would.

Yup, had a disc trimmed. I am on a 20 pound weight restriction for the next month. I thought the restriction would be an issue, but the pain comes way before the 20 pounds and tells me to take it easy.

Now you know why the sold so many 3020 and 4020 Deere tractors it is called operator comfort.IH may have a longer lived engine but in operator comfort they missed it. The deere steers easier and rides much better. My wifes family had red tractors and when she started driving my 4020 she could not believe the difference. Her one brother has all Deere tractors now. That is my opinion but I will admit the 706 and 806 were good tractors I once thought I wanted a 1206 but they got real pricey the last few years. We do not realize how lucky we are to be able to spend 12 hour days on our tractors doing what we want.Farmers are one of the few people in the USA that make produce anything.
