Today was March 17 and we got our potatoes in the ground,Used a old horse drawned potato planter,planted 200 lbs in about 2 hrs,for the first time every thing went well.Now I hope thell grow

Fertilize them with the horse as you go, good idea.

What do you do with that much? Sounds like too much for a family but too little for market?

I always do it the easy way. Drop them and then cover with straw. Quick easy and they grow well

100 lb kenebc,50 lb red pontiac,50 lb yukon gold,Theres 2 of us that plant them,and Ive got a lot of friends,give a lot away

Been working up here in the greenhouse at the university crossing potatoes to make new cultivars. Our focus is mainly on chippers and russets but we breed a few reds and purples as well. I"ll try to remember to bring my camera in this week and share with you folks how it is done and where your tax dollars go. lol

good selection of varietys ,my wife likes yukon gold the best,but some of the others keep better,so I think its a great idea to plant several kinds
