JXU series IH tractors

I need some opinions from people who have one of these tractors. The company i work for is looking at getting a 75-95 horse tractor. It has come down to a 6030 series Deere or a JXU IH tractor. We may look also at the new C series Farmalls when they get some at the dealership. My question is there anything that any of you do or do not like about these tractors? I've not been around any of these model tractors. Ride, operator comfort, cab space, etc. it will be a cab 4WD tractor. It will be driven over disked fields, cotton, corn and bean fields. I know how good the deere tractors are but I don't don't care anything for our local Deere dealer and we have to buy local. Thanks for any input.

Good all around tractor for the money. I've talked to differnt people who have experience with the Farmall/JX U series tractors. I personally was looking for a Farmall 105U to but on the farm this year but could not find one available in my area. I "settled" on a Farmall 95 which is the less expensive version of the U series. So far I've got only good things to say about that 95. Even my JD obsessed buddy likes driving that tractor.

I've got a cx model and I think the cab and controls are the same. Don't like where the 2-speed button is. To easy to accidentally hit it when you go for the hand throttle. Other wise real happy with it. Cab very quiet.

Thanks for the input. I looked at a 95 farmall but going to pass on them. I've run some of them before and just don't care for them. I haven't gotten to look at a U series yet. One of my concerns was how easy the shifters are to get to. I know some of them are not easy to get to without leaning over. That will get old quick I think.

I can't argue dealers with you, and CIH makes a pretty good machine. I've operated a couple, and I own a 6400, so I'm kind of partial to green. I can tell you that the JD seems a bit more friendly to the operator, and the 6000 series is as nice an operator friendly tractor as they come. And there is excellant parts support for them in most areas, if not from one, but another dealer. We have four within fifty miles. I only have one IH dealer with three stores and the nearest is 45 miles. But it's your decision, and it's really kind of a tough one. Good luck---

There's some strange wording in the IH contract for puchase of a new Farmall 95. Something to the effect that it depends on the State Law where it is sold. I bought mine in SD and it has a 2 year warantee. I did some internet researc and discovered in KS they have 3 years.
My 95 has been back to the dealer 5 times, for just south of 6k worth of work. Clutch, AC, Wiring harness (1600 for that)shuttle shift, and brakes. You KNOW I will buy the 3 year bumper to bumper extended the June. There's almost nothing a home mechanic can fix on the thing.

I haven't looked into the warranty per say on the 95's. I was told by the salesman taht they have some special hoops to get through on them but he didn't go into any detail on them. How many hours are on your 95 and what do you use it for?

I've been around and operated some magnums but that is the extent of most of my hours on a newer IH tractor. I use to work for Deere so I know a 6000 series pretty well. They are hard to beat tractors. But with the new IH dealer we have they are 10x the dealer our deere dealer will ever be. Very hard choice when you look at both of those reasons.
