Taking advice on slowing down.

I took it easy today and cleaned tools and rested. I appreciate the advice from Old. I have someone that is going to help me with the work getting ready for planting. I am planning on the six week recuperation.

Putting a strain on that which is recovering is like putting air in the tire before the patch is dry!
Good choice. Jim

Wish I could make myself slow down. I had hernia surgery 2 weeks ago and have somewhat rested 1 day since. The day after my surgery I was at a horse auction all day. I try to rest but I sit here with no tv just yt and think about all the things I need to get done so I start puttering don't help it's 60 degrees outside either.

You have a good work ethic if a 'little' thing like neck surgery has trouble holding you down. A lot of folks would take full advantage of the surgery to get as much down time as they can. You evidently are not one of them.

My neck surgery was a laminectomy on C3,4,&5. No spinal nerves were involved, they just lopped off the back of three vertibrae because the spine was getting squeezed, then they sewed me back together. I lost 14 pounds afterward and I was eating well and felt good the whole time, so I went back to work too soon too. After all, all it was, was a sore neck!!Didn't realize the seriousness of the whole thing till my follow up with the surgeon. Your body will let you know when it's had enough and it's good you are listening. Jim

Believe me you do not want to push things or you will learn what it means to hurt 24/7 like I do. If I where to ever wake up and not be in pain I would have to figure I was DEAD. Please do not push your self and if your doctor say 3 lbs is to much then do not lift 2lbs. I have a 5.5 inch scare in my lower back and I hurt all day every day and believe me it is not fun and no drug helps the pain it is just a part of life that is not fun. If you do ever get down here to see me watch close and you may see that I do not walk right etc etc

Old, I took it "easy" but the pain came back because of "Scar Tissue"..
My Electro Stim Implant has dropped that by 85%, so now it is hardly even noticeable ..
Takes about 30 Minutes to implant the whole thing..
He put the Temp on me at his Office ( for a 7 day Trial )..that didn't take him 15 minutes and NO Stitches at all..!
He can put these in to Block Pain from about any place in the body (except the Head!!)
Hope you check it out..
Ron..
