Sure has come a long ways since the little sawmill on the other side of the road... If you work there, we can't be too far apart. Sure build some big beasties there now.

If ya go to the website there's a link to you-tube videos of this stuff working. Probably not many farmers buying this stuff. The largest one in photos (flail total chiparvestor) goes for little over a million $. Most are in the 5-800,000. area. Not the little brush chippers of course.I,m group leader in paint dept. Retire in abt 10 mos.

Yeah, I should have added LOL. I know those things are some heavy duty stuff. Little out of my price range though. Those large ones look like they could chew up a whole tree and spit out the roots. Thanks for the photos, most folks have no idea that such machinery even exists.

I've seen a couple working and was amazed at the size of the trunk that was flipped in there. It was chewed up in seconds.

robably hear those big suckers 'chewing' a mile away!

Those machines are amazing.I had some logging done on my land and was watching a chipper at work. It was powered by a V12 Cat engine and when a whole tree was laid on it, the govenor gave a mild kick, almost no smoke from the stack and the tree was gone.

A logger in my area 2 years ago bought a new flail grinder, new tiger cat loader, a tiger cat skidder, 4 trailers and 4 new Mack's to pull the trailers with. He said that he grinds up all the left overs when a logging company gets done. Said he couldn't afford to pay for the tree scraps but does it as a favor to the land owners. Has to be money in it somewhere?

I operated a mobark whole tree chipper for about 3 years. Could put 37 ton of chips in a trailor in 13 to 15 minutes. Took three grapple skidders to keep me in wood. If I remember right it would handle up to a 27 inch tree.

Wow that is kinda crazy. I live in Mt Pleasant. Know a couple people that work there including a cousin. Went to school with the grand kids of the guy that started the place. My best friend in school lived right behind there.
