Whatcha all thinking were gonna get? May be a miserable one. Gonna bank some cornstalk bales up for a windbreak from the east. Have 3 heifers that are real close, sure hope they dont decide this is the time.

Well Dave my area is supposed to get 6-10 inches but could get up to 12. Who knows with the weather guessers? I do know that I'm finally going to put the blower on the 1206 this morning and make sure my backup, the TLB is realy to go before the storm moves in. Hate to say it but we really could use the snow right now.

It'll dump for sure. I've got 20 new calves outside (they have shelters and know how to use them), and the calving barn is full too. 5 new babies in there, with 4 more cows real close. 9 more close up mothers in a pen right outside. I don't even know where to put them anymore. Oh well, all we can do is see what happens and deal with it accordingly. I have the snow blower on one cab tractor, snow bucket and tire chains on the loader tractor, blade on the truck. All feed rings are full of hay, we'll just have to let it do its thing now.

I did that too yesterday.....don't have to worry about hay for the cows for a few days.

Sounds like the took some of the wind out of the forecast, which will help a lot. Otherwise, I think I'm in the same band as oldtanker.

Hope you don"t get all the weather they"re promising. Threatening up over a quarter inch of FREEZING RAIN for us in west central Michigan. Hope we don"t get all the waether they"re promising.

Raining here in Sioux Falls, SD this morning. Calling for freezing rain changing to snow for tomorrow. Ice on the sidewalk and east window already. Heavy snow to the north of us.

Well the snow blower is on, last of the critter care stuff is done.....now only gotta take care of normal chores till it's all over with.

Needs a better cab and it will be getting new rear tires this spring. Runs out strong and gets the job done.

Considering their reliability....do you seriously consider any forecast? Countless times, it diminishes before it gets here, and we"ve been through this for decades, but especially in recent years....all the hype. Just do the normal prep. Sure, there was Jan 10, 1975, and some in the 80s, then 90 and 91 at Halloween, but Metro forecasters just like to hear themselves talk. They have no idea what it"s like for people that really work in winter. This has been about the easiest winter ever in my lifetime.....68 years.

Yea they have been wrong often but it started snowing here east of Fergus Falls about 7:30 and we have about 4" so far. Even the weather guessers have to be right some times. And you are right so far has been a very easy winter. I didn't even mount the blower until this morning this year.

Not sure about over there but we are getting pounded here. Sheriff and NWS have reported snowfall rates up to 6" per hour in places. They are calling for up to 11" but at this rate we will have way more than that.
