Seems Canadian authorities figured child abuse, 'cause she drew a picture of a man with a gun... He ends up arrested. Is this where we're headed if certain politicians in authority have their way?
CLINK in theclink

it is if things keep on the same track, its time for a change, and im not sure its possible this time either, not impressed with any of the candidates, wish we the people could say, 'not acceptable' try again

The principal, teachers, so called police officers and all others involved in this should be charged for stupidity!!! A young child with a vivid mind will draw pictures of anything, so that makes the parents child abusers??? Really! This is down right ridiculous!

I had surgery early last week.

Before going to the operating room, the surgeon came to my room and with a magic marker, made a blue "X" where is was going to cut.

He told me that since the first of the year, it is now required by federal law.

I'm tellin' ya guys, the loons are running things nowadays.

That was 2 hrs away from here. School teachers are among the most brain washes politically correct types going. And they are quick to brainwash the students. Our kids public school has an openly g*y p*vert as a substitute teacher. I told my children to get up and leave the classroom when he starts and peace and tolerance speach. If the authorities were not so two faced they would worry about every household with alcohol in the fridge or cupboard. Death, injury and tragedy from alcohol abuse is thousands of times more common than firearm incidents. Of course the trotted out the old line of you can't be too carefully or if it saves even just one life.odd how it's supposed to only apply to what the PC see as sins.

The lack of common sense and ingorance are related and it is a shame that some peple
that have a job of Authority or seam to think
they have the power to comtrol, they Instantly loss there common sense and show there ingorance.
GOOD DAY;

If I was to have surgery they wouldn't have to mark it as long as I was able. It would already be marker by me. I do beleive I have seen that done some time ago when my wife had surgery.
I think thats a little extreme arresting the father of the four year old. I had first grader kids on my school bus pretending to be shooting each other a while back. I had them stop but never dreamed of calling the cops on their parents.

I encountered the same thing when I had surgery on Jan 19th, nurse mentioned to me, "Did the doctor/surgeon come by and mark & initial the incision?" Foot surgery, they had me put a compression stocking on the other leg, like a marker or flag, doctor did come by, spoke with him briefly, never did a lay out or marked the foot. Good bunch in there, they triple checked with me about what foot, what was to be done etc. Seems these people are awful busy and waste no time, doctor included, think I met and spoke to this guy once for a few minutes at most, before you know it he's working on my foot, post op, spoke a few minutes, and the last appt. spoke a few minutes, have to remind him of whats going on, they look at the wrong paper work or who knows what, seems like they could take off the wrong leg or something !

The worst was that there is some shortage of the sedatation or anesthesia drugs needed, the staff was openly talking about it and were actively seeking trades with other facilities for same, I'm thinking what is this the 4077th M*A*S*H or what ? Large facility, all kinds of traffic, people coming and going. Government involved with both of these scenarios, here I am wondering, they put me out (Local on the nerve and sedation which did knock me out)am I going to feel this and not be able to say something, cause they're short on drugs...... cripes theres tons of drugs on the streets, none in the medical facilities though LOL !

Given the amount of times I've heard about a patient getting the wrong proceedure on the wrong body part I think I would appreicate this little gesture while I was still awake. Personally I'd hate to go in for an say an apendectomy and come out missing some other vital male parts....... Just saying.........

And in other news. . .

The head of the California State Dept of Fish and Game (or whatever the actual name of that dept. is in Cal.) went to Idaho, participated in a legal hunt for mountain lion, and shot one. Pic or info about it got back to California, and they are outraged. Legislature is probably going to fire him.

They did that to me two years ago when I had my shoulder operated on. Only a nurse came in just before the Doctor and ask which shoulder and then placed the mark.

They literally had enough for that days patients in for surgery, and did not know where tomorrow's was coming from, guess I hit it just right.

"Sansone said he went to pick up his three children on Wednesday and was summoned to the principal’s office, where three police officers were waiting. They said he was being charged with possession of a firearm."

At least in the US you are charged with possession AFTER they find the firearm. For you Michigan guys, Jeffery Fieger and the ACLU would be all over this, costing the local law enforcement millions of $$.

Notice we no longer have the flag behind your president when he speaks at a white house press conference. Look closely at the mid eastern symbols on the gold curtain behind him.

I didn't mean that as a personal attack, Allan. A lot of us are in some kind of a managed care system where someone else picks the specialist or surgeon for us.

I've always TRIED to have what would best be described as a "middle of the road" viewpoint. Try to see both sides, try to think in terms of what allows everyone to have their rights and freedoms, and try to believe MOST people have enough common sense to walk and chew gum at the same time.

In recent years, I'm finding out I HIGHLY over-rated MOST people.

People who are drawn to the "left" seem to live in a dream world. "Wouldn't it be nice if....." They're totally disjointed from reality.

People on the right seem to be stuck to old realities, and very much opposed to compromise.

So long as the two sides are so far from each other, ANYTHING that results from their thinking is going to be less to do with what works and more to do with just what falls out when you shake the bag.

There's GOT to be a middle ground. One based on common sense, RESPECT of others, and the realization that the way we're doing things now just isn't working.

And sadly, I don't see it as something that'll get better soon.

How far is this idiocy going to go?

When our daughter was about 4 years old, she played with Easter eggs pretending they were hand grenades.

She's now a perfectly normal, well adjusted paralegal and Office Manager for a real estate title company in Washington DC.

We just turn the other cheek, and for those that don't - it was reported just last week that the SIU was cleared of 96% in all 800 serious cases in 1996.

Just for everyone who is wondering ..Canadians can own handguns and long guns. Handguns have been registered since 1935 in Canada. The long gun registry that was started about 10 years ago has been abandoned by Parliament because of the snafu of trying to register millions of hunting guns. We have "Restricted" and "Prohibited" Handguns are restricted and must be kept on the owner's premises properly stored,a permit is required to carry the gun to and from a gun range. Prohibited guns are fully automatic and handguns with smaller than .32 cal. My guns are all hunting guns, the guns must be stored in a cabinet or with trigger locks.Ammunition must be stored securely in another location of the premises.
In this case it was a total overreaction to a picture draw by a little girl..however she should not see that gun because it should be locked up as required and there was a fear that it was available to her..not defending what happened because it was ridiculous as far as I am concerned.....but if her old man is a drug dealing jerk..then maybe the call was right, but in this case it doesn't sound like he did anything illegal.I know Americans view our gun laws as being unfair but we didn't have a school shooting today either

Michael Soldan,
"The long gun registry that was started about 10 years ago has been abandoned by Parliament because of the snafu of trying to register millions of hunting guns."

I have to agree with you.

If Google map can successfully map and photograph almost all streets and houses in North America, I would have to say with all the BILLIONS put into the Gun Registry and The Electronic Health someone made a fortune on the failures.

Those are interesting stats. I don"t know what our ratio is here in Michigan. But in the major Michigan cities the crime is so bad I don"t think anyone questions when a police officer discharges their sidearm.

Well.... Except for the family of the guy shot, who the family claims turned his life around, but was out on parole possessing an illegal firearm that was stolen, robbing a store or person. "He was a good guy". You get the idea.

Like Dick L, when I had shoulder surgery years ago, the doctor asked me which one was being done. I thought it was wierd at the time, but my wife (a nurse) reminded me that the guy does a half dozen or so operations before lunch almost every day and it is a good double check.
