It Always Helps When. . .

Your wife likes old tractors.

Finished building a run-in shed for Nancy"s horses during the Christmas holidays.

A couple of weeks ago, she decides to move them back to Dallas for a while.

She's working with Reward, one of her Arab/Quarter horses, to get him ready for sale.

We cleaned out the run-in shed earlier today and moved the hay ring outside.

Couple of hours later Nancy suggested that we move two of the MTs into the run-in shed.

Sometimes I think she can read my mind.

It is always nice to have shelter for the critters. Whether they be horses or Deere. Looking good, time to build another.

Hello James,

I like the hay bedding for the Deere's.

Say hello to Nancy for me.

Lookin Good ! Just a question . I see the one is missing a back rest and the fenders may be the reason (better access to seat from the back) Are the clam shells original equipment ? Also tell Nancy she got mail 'Camera question' (since she is mostly the photographer )

Wow wish mine looked that good. Its more oil than green. The hydraulics leak around the quadrant handles and I haven't figured out in ten years how to fix it :(

Post a question on the JD forum for suggestions on repairs.

There are at least two or three good fellows that have worked on their MTs TOM hydraulic systems.

So far haven't had any critter damage to any of the tractors.

All we've got right now is coyotes and they keep to the woods down in the bottom.

"Mac" our 51MT on the left did not have a backrest when we bought it.

"Sam" our 51MT on the right did not have fenders when we bought it.

Of the two, "Sam" is the easiest to mount.

"Rusty" our other 51MT was complete with a backrest and fenders.

Many years ago Nancy worked for Eagle Steel in Hutchins, TX.

When we built the barn in Hutchins, we bought new "seconds" from Eagle Steel.

Turned the "painted" side in and had what we called the "rainbow" barn.

When the barn roof was blown off back in September, we salvaged as much sheet metal as possible to use on the run-in shed.

We put up the sheet metal on the run-in shed that was the best length and fit.

Pattern inside is strictly random, but came out looking pretty good.

There was about half a bale left in there when the horses were moved.

Nancy does not like to waste hay, so we tied it as best possible and moved it to her truck.

We also had some loose hay in the hay barn that we also moved to her truck.

She called last night and said the horses went right for the new hay.

You need to buy her a JD tractor for your wedding anniversary or her birthday.

Take it to [b:654c4848f0]glennster[/b:654c4848f0] and let him spruce it up a bit.

Her new tractor will be too nice to leave outside, so the next gift idea is a storage shed for her tractor.

Make the storage shed large enough for future gift tractors to both the wife and daughter.

Its a win-win situation for the whole family.

Right now we've got all the storage we need.

Sure makes it easy when tractors and equipment aren't too crowded.

One between those two, and one each side, backed in. Mom can't stop ya, ya gotta put sumthin in all that 'MT' space----
