After watching the videos of the guy excavating his basement with RC stuff...you show me this. I feel like a slobbering braindead moron who has zero creativity.

i believe i saw that set up on mythbusters. busted, as it dont work. soon as you get in the grass you stop.

Who'd have thought that was possible. It"d be a chore to keep the remotes straight. The guy that did this apparantely needs more to do, although it says he's a cattle and grain farmer. Needs more animals I guess.

This would probably be a good conversation piece to make and display on your lawn with a For Sale sign. Cheers, Murray

i would have mounted a power mower to the front end with controls to use mower instead of pedaling it, just need to figure how to steer better.. aw heck with it, i just use my riding mower...lol..lol..lol

Twenty or so years ago an actual pedal powered rotary mower was manufactured. Local bicycle shop bought one and several of the more athletic bikers tried cutting grass. Completely unfeasible, which should be expected. Less than ten top bicyclists in the world can generate one horsepower and that is only for a very limited time span. These leading bicyclists can generate about 1/2 continuous horsepower. How many engine powered mowers do you know that offer less than one hp? An average rider could expect about 1/4 continuous hp. A reel mower is more efficient therefore would require less power, but still well beyond the typical homeowner's capability.

I saw one that was driven with a minibike tire on the front the engine was on the handlebars and had a roller that was in contact with the tire looked like a single off a golf course gang reel set up as a back axle and he was leaving rooster tails as he mowed . I can't find the pic had to be homemade . but they tried everything to make life easier.

Dad had rigged up an electric motor on a push type mower. After one summer of having to keep repairing the extension cord, he rigged the mower up to a three speed bike, similar to the set up in the first picture. The three speed had low gear. He said "When you guys figure out a way to cut the grass and not the power cord, I"ll put the motor back on, or you can push the darn thing by hand again"

That is awesome! I give them an A+ for it!

However, I like my Ford 1910 compact diesel with the landpride FDR1672 finish mower, my 2 Gravely 812's with 50 inch decks, my Ford 1210 compact diesel with 60 inch mower, and my honda hydrostatic pushmower.

I like the smell of diesel fumes on a May morning after the dew burns off. It smells better than a steak on the grill to me.

I would try the pedal powered machine, but I am pretty sure it doesn't have shuttle shift, live pto, hydraulics, power steering, or a cup holder.

hahaha I still love it though!

Thanks for posting this
