Tractor has good oil pressure and good power but is blowing oil back through manifold and blowing white smoke out exhaust. seems like it does not leak oil or smoke as bad when pulling heavy load,any ideas.

Gene could be right or the engine could be worn out and the rings allowing compression to bypass. It might even be stuck rings in the pistons too. If it is that, it would explain why it seems less when worked hard. The pistons expand with the heat and allow the rings to move.

Turbo charged motors usually don't use oil even when worn out because the turbo keeps a positive pressure on the top of the pistons all of the time.

I would bet that your compression is low because of worn/stuck rings. The white smoke is unburnt diesel fuel. The older designed engines would do this more so than the newer higher injection pressure engines. I have had old Detroits that would smoke like a steam engine when first started but clean up when warm. When you would rebuild them all of the rings would be stuck and full of carbon. Perkins are kind of prone to doing this too. Matter of fact most older engines are.

We had serial number CDW651500815 and they used chrome rings instead of cast. Ours did the same thing. It wasn't just light smoke growing into heavy smoke, it was all at once. Turbo was fine. Dealer stated the chrome rings do that after time and wear.
