Was being lazy with the dog and enjoying a nice morning... Almost spring here....
This all within 3 miles of the house. Couple pics in the woods that look like just trees, if you can make out some humps, they are burial mounds fron the Celtic times... The stone tower dates back to about 1100 and was used as a signal/route marker for a trade/smuggler route (fire built on top). The hunter stands are just that. You can see the not enclosed ones are much older, mainly because the local hunters are aging and the open air is a little much for them. Stands are for hunting and counting/watching. You don't kill animals in a watching/counting area. One ( the short/big one) is surrounded by badger and fox dens and only there to count/watch and tell hunters how many needs to be killed. You'll see one that is tipped over... It is in a watch area and the hunter knocked out a couple deer. Other hunters showed him that he was caught and it wasn't accepted.......
Things just don't get ripped off here as a rule, this firewood is on public access roads in about as middle of nowhere as you can get and still be in a civilized area and noone touches it except the owner......
Getting springtime folks....
