Krone KR 130

There is a Krone KR 130 round baler for sale that I am interested in looking at. I currently use a Massey Ferguson 450 (Same as Vermeer 504C) and was thinking that this would be a good upgrade. Has anybody used one of these or know of anything that I should make sure to check on it? It is red and tan and I think it is a mini-stop. This would make it an early 90'S machine right? I appreciate any advice or input anybody has for me.

I had a krone kr baler in the nineties. I don"t remember the model number. It was green, and made 4X4 bales. fixed chamber, roller bars. I put up mostly grren hay. I think you could have laid cord wood down in the fields and it would have baled it up. I baled with a 656 int. and you could stuff that baler so full of hay it would just about stall the tractor. The more hay you"d put in, the firmer the bale would be. We"d make them so tight that it was all you could do to get the bale spear in them. One thing about it, when time was tight you didn't have to worry about the baler breaking down. i'd buy another in a heart beat.

We bought two used KRONE balers in April 2007.

Both were built in the late 1980s.

The smaller KRONE 125 is the 4x4 baler we use in the Coastal Bermuda hay meadow.

It is a fixed chamber baler with rollers.

There is a slip clutch on the drive shaft.

It has a manual tying system and the string knives need to be kept sharp to prevent tying problems.

Most of the maintenance can be done with a 13mm wrench.

The small 4x4 bales are easier for Nancy to handle when feeding her horses.

The bales are are soft-core bales and usually form a "star" pattern like the one on the right.

It has a good pickup and <a href="http://youtu.be/XEaqc2pXPgI">leaves very little on the ground</a>.

There is only <a href="http://youtu.be/H_1_iWV9WqE">one hydraulic line</a> on this baler.

The 4x4 baler <a href="http://youtu.be/7X1TPAUgf38">requires a minimum 35hp tractor</a>.

Hope this helps.

That is what we run and other then pick up teeth have had no problems with it in over 40000 bales , yes over 40000 bales . I sold four krone balers wringt around me and only had one problem with one , a factory weld let go on the main drive sprocket . Yest you can get buy with smaller H. P but the more pony's ya put up ft. the better the bale and depending on you lay of the land helps with handling . Where i live the 130 krone behind a 706 Farmall with out loaded tire and no weight will give you a ride you won't soon forget .

Not true, they also make a chain/slat variable chamber round baler. We have one (replaced an M%W 4500 with it) and it is an absolute tank. It does require quite a bit more power and tractor weight (the baler itself weighs in over 3 tons empty!). They have a 4x5 (Variopack 1500) and a 4x6 (Variopack 1800). They just recently came out with a new line of variable chamber balers that I believe is going to replace the Variopack line, but I don"t know much about those.
