IH 1566 hydraulic problems

I just bought a 1566 and the hydraulic pressure does not want to go past 800 pounds on the dual remotes. I changed the pump out still at 800 pounds. What else can be causing this. Where am I loosing pressure?

Don't know id this makes any difference but I was told the TA was taken off the tractor.

under the seat on the hyd valve/manifold body is the pressure relief takes a 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 wrench every one that has acted that way I have seen needs this pressure relief unit replaced as they are not repairable cnt

I did try a swapping the valve from another smaller tractor rated for 2000 pounds of pressure. I didn't see any change in pressure still was at 800 pounds. Should i have seen an increase in pressure? Or do I have to have the valve rated for the same pressure as the pump puts out? Would the valve simply open and let the pressure through without building up if the valve size isn't sufficient?

you swapped out the pressure relief and no change? Hmmm,,, did you try putting the relief from the 1566 in to the other tractor and did it put out good pressure? does the 1566 have 3pt and does it have good lifting power? if so my next guess is you have a remote valve problems also if you have access to a flow tester that might give you more answers too, this is a dumb question but you did change out the hitch pump? only reason I ask is I have seen people change the MCV pump thinking it was the hitch pump, sorry just trying to make sure of all cause's cnt

I would remove the plate for the top 3 point link. Start the tractor have someone hold the remote lever forward or back to see where oil comes from. Also watch front left of housing there is a teflon seal between the transmission case and rockshaft housing that I have seen blow and dump oil back into the reservoir

If the relief valve worked good in other tractor then it is not the problem. Not necessary to have exact pressure rated relief valve, either one will work up to their rated pressure. Couple other things that happen in those models, make darn sure your not raising the hitch with the draft control lever and have the position control lever too far down in lower position. That last offset portion of the position control is action control. It merely dumps a good portion of the fluid to all circuits and is used to control speed of hitch reactions to change of load when using draft control for plowing etc. Have seen a lot of tractors that would not lift a load when someone had just inadverdently pushed position lever too far down. That action control valve can stick also but you have to know what you are feeling for to tell that. Couple other things, blown seal rings, either at the pump mounting flange or under the top cover to main frame. I always pressurize the port when pump is off to check for internal leaks. Just have to put one aux valve on demand and apply air pressure and listen for leaks inside. Too late now but. Anyway.

I took the 3 point plate off and started the engine imeadiatly oil is spraying down from the top right side somewhere. I can't see the exact location though. I don't see much change in the oil flow when the valves are operated.

The oil normaly returns from this area. If it doesnt change much when moving the valves it souns like a oring blown in that area or may be somthing in the 3pt valve stuck open.
