AS A TRACTOR OWNER DO YOU....

As a tractor owner, do you find yourself as a more self sufficient/prepper type, or one who trusts our ways, and laws of life in society as it is today?

I don't worry about it. Know how to live off the land and really find the dooms dayers kinda amuzing.

Me too. Just like those that come home from a hard day's work and
the first thing they do is turn on the evening news. Ha!

On the subject, wonder what the dooms dayers will have to say Dec
22? Set another date?

self reliant, life has repetedly taught me to trust in me, trust what i know, not what somebody tells me, we lost ' government by the people' now we have government of the people,

Not sure I quite get the second part of that, but when the wife tells me I should go to the doctor more,I ask her what's next? Does she want me to take a tractor to a mechanic?
Does that help you any?

Ha, Yea...that reminds me of the image I have of the man and his Horse, labeled "Horse Mechanic"..!!

I figure..."Be Prepared" and always improvise if need be...(Like that Horse Mechanic!)..

Always kinda thought growing up my brother was the anti-Chirst. His birthday is 12/21. Go figure. I wonder if he'll have a going out/birthday party? Either way it should go off with a BANG!

I wasn't talking about the end of the world here. I ask this because in general, I see most tractor owners as self sufficient, at least more than non tractor owners. We tend to take care of more stuff on our own,..agree?

Yes,that's what I said. Even my own health. I know where it hurts and what makes it feel better.

Since I was old enough to understand it, I've heard end of the world scenarios almost every year. If you do research, they go back for centuries.

There's always some yahoo/group of yahoos saying it's the end times.

It certainly could happen, but so far so good. And I have a standing offer out there- so far no takers. I'm willing to bet every penny and every possession I own that the world isn't going to end. Pick any date you want.

It's wise for everyone to have stuff around to hold out for a week or two in case the utilities fail/roads are cut off. Disasters happen.

Thing is if anything THAT BAD happens, all bets are off. Everyone will probably know you're that nut with a huge stock of food... good luck keeping the entire town of hungry people away. Or maybe we'll just get torrential rain and your underground hidey-hole gets flooded.

Point is, whatever you're expecting it's probably going to be something else. You can survive on your own for a while but if you want any kind of decent life like you had before it's going to take a community of people cooperating to keep it going.

Do you mean: watching a tractor mechanic putting a brass sleeve in the eye of the axle with the grease hole on the opposite side to the grease nipple.
Like barnE says, it's I and Thy and lately I am having doubts about Thy.

Don't really agree with that. I'm pretty much self sufficient with repairs ans such but I know a lot of farmers who are not.

How'd the OP question get to this?

Frankly, tractor ownership is no guarantee of any sort of ability.
