O/T more accurate measuring

On the old mill, the first pic is the chain system that was on it. I was having problems keeping it consistant. I built a more stable system that seems to work alot better

be carefull!! Looks like sawdust is building up on the rails.

We used to cut and bolt old street brooms under the carrage to keep saw dust off there.

Lyle, mill down the road has two cleaning chains, one under the mill, and a second going out the side to a pole. The pole chain is elevated and eventually builds a pile outside that builds it's own elevator as it cleans. When a truck comes in for sawdust, they just drive a loader in to the pile created under it.

Could you take a better pic of the ratcheting system that's used to pull the headblock's forward? You should have stop pins that can be set in 1/4 in increments for any thickness board you want to pull consistently. A piece of belting or old tire with a rail notch cut out should be bolted to the rear of the carrage on one side and a straight piece on the other side to keep your rails clean.

sawdust will build up & throw off the board thickness & heat up the saw.

here was a sawdust blower for the mill but I cant seem to get it to run properly, This week I will be adding a belt drive sawdust chain.

will get a better pic for you of the system. I will be adding some sweeps for the rails soon..
