The passing of the man who wore this ring, brought about the question of what organization does it represent? I understand the diamonds and Ruby's are authentic as is the miniature pearls and the black onyx base and the gold band. From what was told to me is the value of the ring exceeds $2,000.00 a couple years ago. Cant find any where on the net that lists or describes it. Does any one know the origin of the ring/pin? Regards LOU.

Hi, the ring is upside down in the photo. The letters seem to be phi lambda theta (greek).

Is the previous owner from Pennsylvania?
Try this:

Was he a Teacher?

Maybe the letters are phi delta theta, it's hard to tell with the glare on the photo.
How about this?

Did he go to Indiana University?

I'm betting on the phi delta theta.

Bye for now,

Troy. Thanks a bunch. The ring was photographed up side down.(sorry about that)And from the information I got was ,there was a gold chain attached to the sword. and was removed so it wouldn't fall away or drag.Owner was sure there was no educational service attached with the ring owner. The new owner wanted to see a photograph of the pin. Value must be now in excess ot the aforementioned dollar amount. Who would know the value of the ring? again ,thanks for your help. Regards LOU.

Jerry Thanks. LOL Like many others I was a member of the fratenity from the S.O.H.K. School of hard knocks (AGG Alpha gonna gittum.) lol
regards LOU.

Nice ring.. your question of what it's worth reminds me of the "Pawn Stars". If you took it there and they were buying, they'd give half what it's worth, then when they're selling it would be worth a mint! (yeah I know, they have to make a living)

The Pawn Stars' philosophy on buying is much like mine...

If he's asking 10, he wants 8, it's worth 6, he'll take 4, so offer him 2.

Yeah, that's Phi Delta Theta, I was in Beta Theta Pi, we used to poke fun at them in a drinking song.

Christos the only Greek at WSU who went Greek”, Delta Phi 225

Yea it is a Phi Delt ring.
Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, no telling which chapter or college/University.

You might send a photo (right side up) to the Frat national web site and see if they have any info on it.

Check inside for date and name.
Box may help find a maker.

"Owner was sure there was no educational service attached with the ring owner." Boy, you can say that again- its a Phi Delt ring, and nobody ever accused any of them of getting an education, at least in the classic sense. They were the wildest house at Washington State, until they got kicked off campus.

So when you're selling you throw it in reverse. Doesn't work for me. Someone's asking $120 I offer $100 and it's no deal, but then I look at the bright side, I just "made" $120. Maybe that's why I'm broke.
