Musician Yanni is touring the Eastern US, Canada and Mexico over the next few months. I won two tickets to his last concert tour in 2009. Was a performance beyond all expectations. I was blown away. Heard about it today, and went on line to get tickets. Think I got the same two seats, at least the same row!!! Yanni has some faboulous orchestral music, and last tour he added 4 very taleneted singers. I can hardly wait to see what he has for this time. May 7 in Grand Rapids MI. Check his website for performances in your area. Yanni.com/tour/ If great rousing instrumentals is on your listening list, you won't be disappointed. I was suprised to note all the folks our age at the last concert.....

You're the one I posted this for! Gotta take her to that concert... You'll be her hero for at least a week!

Geez,I took her to see Celtic Woman two years in a row. I suppose she's gonna find out on her own. Probably see you there. I'm sure when Cindy finds out,Kevin's gonna have to take her too.

By the way, my wife herard it on the radio this morning. I got on line with the ticket vendor, and it appears they have more than half the seats taken already. Don't know how many of those were sold to "season ticket" holders, or what, but you'd better jump to it!

Would have loved to see (hear) the Celtic Women concert too. We have the CD, and I have watched them most every time public TV rattles the tin cup.

Who is Yanni and what type music? Myself or nobody I asked around here has ever heard of him.

He has a 15 to 30 member orchestra, keyboards, synthesizers, strings, brass, woodwinds, drums - the whole smear. Also has some terrific vocalists. Plays strong, upbeat, modern music, very upbeat. If you go to his website, http://yanni.com/discography/detail.aspx?pid=119
you can hear a selection of some of my favorites.

Ray,

I'm glad that you posted that URL for a demo of Yanni's current music. The last time I heard anything from him was about 10 years ago. It was all "New Age" music that just drove me crazy. When I saw your post, my immediate thought was that his music is terrible, however, after listening to the demos, it sounds like he's made a really enjoyable change.

Thanks for the post.

Yep, we're got orchestra level center tickets for the April 29th show in St Louis at the Fox. Went about 7 years ago in Kansas City. I was really impressed with the music, songs, and the show in general. Quite an event. Can't wait. It's a whooooole lot better than the stuff of his I used to see for sale on TV in the 80s. Mark

Great rousing instrumentals could mean alot of things to alot of different people. That could be music from Los Straitjackets as well as Yanni.
