Has been a law for some time in Tennessee , since tractors fall in the catagory of equipment that does not carry a title,, it is UNLAWFULL to possess such. They are now enforcing the law pretty strong..If you are in the possession of such peice of equipment and they catch it usually make you document it back to the ORIGINAL owner and in something like this 50 year old tracor that would be most difficult. I would say at least it has demished value.

Mine doesn't have a tag. No tag when I drug it out of a fence row over 20 yrs ago. It runs just as well as one with a tag. I'm happy, so let the worry warts worry.

old popper is right, why worry about it "A lot of old tractors lost their tags for what ever reason over the years."I have never seen a JD hurting for price because of it.

Just go to one of the restoration shops and get a new tag and make up a number and stamp it. Or try to find a similar model in a bone yard and but the tag.
