I'm with Red. My Ravens and his Broncs are out. And I get sick and tired of New Yak an Bastin enuf during baseball season===

I'm 25 miles from Boston. At this point, the TV stations would have you believe that the outcome of the game is dependent on Gronk's ankle that he sprained 10 days ago. Gronkowski is the Boston Wide Receiver who scored alot of TDs in the last half of the season. There are at least 20 Boston TV reporters in Indianopolis with nothing to do but spend their station's money.

That ankle should have a two minute or less life expectancy during the game. The Giant's line backers and safetys will be aiming for it.

The other big story is the Superbowl defeat that the Giants put on the undefeated Patriots four years ago. Nobody wants to see a repeat.

I'm in the who cares crowd. If it were not for my father in law who loves to watch the game and his 4 sons (my BIL's) not caring, I wouldn't even bother watching. But my FIL is among the very few I call really good guys.....so I will waste the time watching the game to make him feel good. He is worth it.

I agree. The only good thing about it is that (AFAIK) none of MY money goes to support the foolishness.

If I lived in a City/State that gave tax breaks to build stadiums and such, I'd be [i:654c4848f0]beyond[/i:654c4848f0] pizzed off.

i agree that sports plays a major part in what's wrong in this country. however the part that is bad is in the high schools. you stand up tell a school board that is going broke to cut out the sports programs that do not pay their way and you'll catch heck from all sides. these are professional sports and they do pay their way in most venues. it's in the abundant cities that have to pay out for pro teams. in most cities it brings in revenue to other business. at least we are civilized enough in this country that we don't go out and kill an athlete because he missed a kick in a soccer game

Don't have a dog in that fight and probably will not see the game. They block the internet watching unless you use windows and silverlight so no watching for me. Having a windows free operating system is much more important to me then the NFL. Linux rules!

Local school district was building a new school, sincethe old one was about 90 years old and it was needed. They couldn"t justify/get enough money in the budget for new desks and chairs or to re-do the old gymnasium into an auditorium. Turned out someone wanted a new football field with a track around it for about $1 million. Only took a few short months to raise this money on donations only, still don"t have enough money for the auditorium.

Finally, a sensible reply to the original post.

I can live with either of them as long as the Steelers aren't in it. But--I will watch it and predict the Giants by 10 points.

Gronkowski is a Tight End, not a WR and it wasn't just a bunch of TD, it's was record book stuff, but besides that you're right on everything else.

I'm not going to make a prediction on the outcome, I think it's going to be close. That being said I'll be pulling for the Pats.

If you don't like it simply don't watch it. I just wish it was the Ravens instead of the Pats so my New York Football Giants could get their revenge.

A quote I attribute to John Madden (although I can't back it up).

"The team that scores the most points will win the game!" :D

Dream on junior, that offence could never score enough points to keep up with the Giants. Besides Lewis is a has been.
