tOT Trunk lid closer motor

Can anyone tell me about trunk lid closer motors? Mine started working intermittantly a few weeks ago. Took it for repair but tech said its ok because he beat on it and it started to work. $20. Next time I opened the trunk it didn't work so I beat on it to no avail. Hear they cost about $300. Any suggestions????

I've got one off a 1981 Cad Eldorado- worked when I scrapped the car- yours for 35 bucks plus shipping. email is mmittge at compprime dot com.

Obviously it is not, take it back and get that $20 worth.

we have a Buick with a broken one. It will work to open the trunk, but not close. So that means the internal micro switch is shot. Basically, buy a new one.

93 olds same problem - bad switch (integral). mangaged to run the catch down by over riding it and diconnected it. now the latch pops via remote but I have to slam the trunk closed (which is probably what messed the whole thing up to begin with).
