Thanks for the great photos. It looks like a really nice setup. Are
you running it by yourself or do you have a crew? I always heard
that it took two or three to keep up with a circle mill but the way
you work you can probably do it by yourself.

have three guys helpin me... me, myself and I lol its a real pain right now packing the product away. I have to figure out some kind of conveyor system for the tail end. I will manage for a while, ya know the old saying... slow and steady wins the race ! :D

Lyle, I wish I could run up there and give you a hand for awhile. It'll get me out of the dingy shop too. And it's only a 1500 mile or so drive in the wintertime. I could stop by and see my friends in Sask. No, I'd better stop thinking or I'll get myself in trouble. What's that tan colored snow on everything? Here in Iowa the snow's white LOL. Jim

ey jim, you or anybody would always be welcome up here! ya just have to bring your own coffee cup!

Lyle, your Fiinnish roots are coming out. Over there they have enough logs piled up to keep the sawmill singing for an eternity.

This is the rig you need.

Hook your trailer to it, go out in the forest, load the logs, pull the load to the sawmill and offload right onto the mill. I didn't dare get out to peek in the cab but I wonder if the seat does a 180 so the operator can look out the back. Jim

Look how they have thr front tires reversed. Makes a lot of sense. Drive in til you lose traction, then shuttle to reverse and back out.

Back when my Grand-dad had his portable sawmill (100 years ago, plus or minus) they used to move the mill From woodlot to woodlot because it was more practical to go to the timber than to bring the logs to a stationary mill when all they had to transport the logs was teams of horses and old wooden wagon gears... often over pretty poor roads in thw fall, winter and spring times when they sawed. They used to like to set up near a pond or good flowing creek or river so they had water for the Steamer they used for power.
