Injector pumps

Anybody seem to be having problems with there fuel injecter pumps leaking. My MF 1085 and 135 both seem to stay wet all the time and the 1085 will drip a little the longer you run it. My JD 4440 and 4630 are also wet but my IH 966 which is hardly used is dry. Neighbors seem to have the same thing with there tractors and one with a 190 XT has continous dripping on a pump rebuilt 5 years ago. I guessing it is the fuel?

This ultra low sulfur diesel evidently is shrinking the O-rings. I have been putting additive in hoping to stop it. But I'm not consistent putting it in. Vic

Check any rubber fuel lines also. I just had to replace all the rubber lines on a Farmall 350. They looked like alligator skin inside and were flaking off which plugged the filters and the strainer in the Roosa Master pump. I replaced them with a new fuel line that is lined with a material that resists ULSD and Bio diesel. Not cheap.

I am having the same trouble with my 560with the 282D engine. Also had external leaks on the semi trucks. Didn't matter if they or Cummins or Cats. Armand

same here.... just damp all over... Will adding 2cycle oil help?

I had to have my IH 464 injector pump rebuilt last year. It was leaking about 1 drop every 3-4 seconds. It cost $500, so I hope I won't have to have it rebuilt again anytime soon.

I'm not consistent in that either. I go to Walmart and get it. I got HOWE"S last. In my pulling tractor I mix the diesel with 10% 2 cycle oil. But it just holds 2 gallon. Just buy the Tech from, you guessed it, Walmart. Vic

Do you have a CAV pump? If so, most time they are leaking around the throttle shaft and cut-off shaft. Use engine cleaner and water hose and really clean the entire pump spotless. When dry, start tractor and use a paper towel (blue is best) and trace down the leak BEFORE you let the whole pump get wet again. If around the shafts, post back. Tom
