PIST and broke, just finished pulling the No 1 piston out and it looks like ring failure. The rest of the cylinders has good compression. Just got to buy a piston kit and a gasket set.

ep, I will need a new sleeve also.

Looks rough. But at least its only one and not 6 you have to buy. Looks like its a good looking tractor when its all together. I like a 1206.

Heck Lyle Ya aint broke till ya cant pay attention ...like me ..
Ya suppose a little emery paper and a lot of determination would fix that ?
If not I do hope that is a sleeve.

ep, thats a sleeve, its a dry sleeve and they just dont pop out like a wet one does. Im gonna have to do a little welding trick to get the sucker out of thar!!

Hey, Lyle, can you get some 'dry ice' anywhere? Get your sleeve puller set up and load it with dry ice or fire a CO2 extinguisher into it. Should break loose real quick, but don't waste a whole lot of time.

Looks like the wrong rod bearing in that hole to me. Either worn or mismatched. Did you do the rebuild? Maybe talk to the guy that did?
Piston was slapping from the getgo.

Are you going to do anything to the other holes??? I have had good luck just hone the sleeves and putting new rings on the old pistons. I would bet that the ring that failed was broken/stained when it was put in.

he piston and the sleeve are both garbage now, the other holes are good

Hey, Lyle- I think that while I had the thing tore up I'd take the extra time to pull the other jugs and replace the rings and bearings while I was at it. It won't take a lot of time now, won't be expensive, and may save a heap of time or down time later. Couple hundred now, maybe a couple thousand later--
