Tool guy is suppose to turn the heats on early. Setup guy is suppose to get the mareral mixed, make up the boxes for the shift, the operator guy is suppose to start the press and run parts. Tool guy came in late, didn't turn on the heats. Set up guy went back home to get a horse trailer and got stuck and didn't get back until lunch time. Took an hour lunch before going to work. Operator guy had a doctors appointment at three so quit at 2:30, shut down and left. Monday netted 1 1/2 hours of production time. That aint a gonna work. Not for long anyway.

It's a good thing those guys have a close, personal relationship with the owner, otherwise, I imagine that they would be long gone!

I hope this aint a case of , you get what you pay for.
Got the same problem where I work. The 2 good guys get $20/hour. The 3 others get $12/hr. If one more good guy would walk in the door those other 3 would be gone. I can't get it through to the 3 stooges that they are overpaid compared to the other 2 guys. They keep making hints at raises. It aint happening, cuz they sound exactly like the DickL crew. Everyone else supposed to just work around their schedule.They don't understand that the work they are supposed to be doing is what pays their wages.

I worked around guys like that for 45 years. I don't have anymore tolerance for them now than I did then. 90% of the guys I worked with did a great job and worked hard. The 10% caused 90% of the problems, made 90% of the scrap and late deliveries, etc. There is something to be said for just canning the bums and saving the jobs of the other 90%.
Worked for a one man diesel shop for awhile, back in my 20's. The owner and I were pretty close in age, and we both drank pretty hard at night.
Came to work one morning...I usually beat him there.
Mark walked in the shop, right past me, one morning, didn't say a word. Went into the office and spent the better part of an hour writing himself a written reprimand for coming to work late and hungover!
We had an employee of the month parking spot out front.....whoever showed up to work before the other more often got the spot for the month.
Fun job back when we both had no debt or responsibilities!

Hey Dick, must be a Williams County thing. After chores this morning, I had to go to Defiance to get a haircut. After stopping to visit with mom and picking up supplies, I'd pretty much shot the day.
