Want to know what sections you have to know from the IL CDL study book to get a class A. I think its sction 2, cargo, and air brakes is that all or is there more?

Armand said it .you could be ask any question even if it don't pertain to what you normally haul.

I think you will find the CDL tests are uniform through out the States Because even though you may be only driving in your own State testing is set up for both intrastate and interstate ( if you live close a state line that would be possible to easily have to do)

If you want the license then read the whole book do not try to bluff your way into a CDL there are no short cuts and with something like that taking a short cut will get you and or some one else dead. I have had the CDL since they came out many years ago and I grand fathered into it but I still read the whole book cover to cover and I just renewed it the first of this month

yep gotta read the book I had been an active CDL driver since the licensing system began up till 5 years ago
I retired I just took the first test gen knowledge thinkin it would be easy... wrong I failed with a 60%
