OT, Marlin 32/20 rifle

Well guys I got it , still have to pick it up next week.Got it for less than the high bid I left on it. Paid $380.plus 10%BP. can hardly wait to see how handles.

Post pics when you get it! All you guy's talkin' has made me want to get a 32/20 of my own...I'm partial to Marlins as well- we have a Marlin 1893 in 32/40 that was my great-grandad's, but I've never shot it since ammo is tough to find especially black powder, which it specifies on the octagon barrel, and I dont want to load my own.

I'd sure like to find a 32/20 with the old style stock(crescent butt plate and straight grip not like the curved newer Marlins) and octagon barrel that would shoot smokless 32/20's.

Good for you Glenn! Now head on over to that cast boolits site I mentioned and start getting the education you need to really enjoy that rifle!

(quoted from post at 07:24:17 01/24/12) If that Marlin has a micro groove barrel it wont shoot cast bullets very well.

Nonsense.

Both my micro grooves shoot cast every bit as well as jacketed. The 35 shoots cast better. Having the right size boolit and right speed powder is critical.

If you have to ask where you get "boolits" then you aren't at the cast boolits site and aren't getting the straight scoop on cast. Microgrooves, and most everything else for that matter, shoots cast just fine. It's all about fitting the boolit to the gun.
