Stupid things you wife has done

Let me tell you about my experience with wives. My first wife couldn't budget 50 cents, couldn't cook, couldn't manage the house, couldn't manage the kids, couldn't help with the farm, just a total screw up. Married her when I was 19, didn't have enough wisdom about me to even think about what you should look for in a wife. We were both going in opposite directions. Married for 18 years and I grew a small farming operation into quiet a large one with all these problems at home.
After 18 years I divorced her when I was 37 years old. I got the privelege of buying back a lot of what I had already bought once before, but was able to keep all the farms. Just had more debt.
Met a woman a couple of years later that had been in a rough one. We got married and started down this road of life. Her mother and her kids and one of my kids tried to give us fits, but she and I were on the same page, and stood together. We did not let them come between us.
We took the farming operation even farther. She knew nothing about this business when we married, but she knew what she wanted to do and who she wanted to do it with. She learnt to rake hay for me, learnt to manage the poultry houses if I needed to do another job, helped me castrate hogs, work cows, pull weeds out of soybeans, and any other job that needed to be done. I even got her a garbage route from a restaurant in town. You name it we did it, but we did it together.
To make a long story short, we will be married 19 years on Sunday, January 22, 2012. We have basically retired now. I am 58 and she is 55. We have a home in Florida where we spend the winter. It couldn't have been any better, it's been a hell of a ride.
This is my thoughts on wives: There is a difference in women, just like cattle and pickup trucks. If it ain't working you need to get to swapping.
When it comes time for one of us to go, I hope I am first. I wouldn't know where to begin without her.

I am lucky enough to have a wife like your second wife but relize there are many women just like your first wife. What ever become of her?

I got my first at 28...she is the love of my life. She does whatever is nessesary without complaining, puts up with my 'crap'.Sure we've had some bumps, hasn't every one?I have no intention of EVER letting go of her.We did 26 yrs Jan 4.Wish everyone was as blessed as I am......

Last I heard, don't ever mention her to my son, she was in Oklahoma. Took the money from our divorce, married a guy who was cooking hamburgers at McDonald's (no kidding), blew the money.

When my wife and I got married all of my friends said it wouldnt last 6 months. We'll be married 23 years this april!

Know how you feel. Your life has blame near paralleled mine. First one was a Navy wife, lasted 16 years. Met second, had her raking hay on our honeymoon. She knows what I'm thinking, and I know what she's thinking. That's scary. We've been together since '85, married since '90. We've built this operation together and it's been one he!! of a ride. I probably pick on her too much, but I guess she realises I'll never change my ways. She lets me have it when I go too far. But I won't go too far without her. And if she happened to see this, she'd swear I've lost my mind. But she knows different.

Reading all these post about stupid things wives have done. Seems like nobody has mentioned the most obvious. Who she married.

Good it worked out for you, second time around. I remember watching my older cousins get married in the 50s, (I had 92 first cousins- big German family, and I"m in the younger third), thought, WOW, make a good choice- you"re stuck for life! (with the non-divorce tradition). April this year, we celebrate 42 years! Both mid-20s when we married, both through college, me through 3 years Army Special Forces before I went for my BS degree in Animal Science, better half an elementary teacher. Yes....life has been a good ride for both of us! After raising 6 wonderful kids....Waiting on our 12th grandchild!

Married to my wife for 32 years. Before she died from cancer. Asked her one time why she married me. She told me somebody had to.

My wife is much like your 2nd wife not the sharpest crayon in the box which is probably how I got her lol but she's willing to do any type of work and prides herself taking care of me and our kids I would be lost without her. And like you I have the selfish thought that I hope I go first

now gents, when your my age, you well know the secret to dealing with the stupid things your wife does is, ya very carefully avoid mentioning those things, unless you like rooming with your dog lol

reading your response of first wife sorta sounds like yu wanted her to be your slave. but was fine to have kids with. it is always a 2 side to it.Been married 35yrs this coming august, has it been perfect no but if you all are honest there not perfect one out there that has not had some issues. most wives have to have seperate jobs for the fellows farming to afford the ins. i am still self employeed and the misses still runs rural mail delivery. kids both married and completely doing their own thing, which is great. Blame is really easy to always say it was the others fault. glad second stayed to do what you wanted to do.
