Pic of a different snow removal machine

Everyone seems to get a crack out of one of my setups. This is a little toro dingo mini skid steer. We put a 4" toro blade on it, but wanted more of course. We made 1" extensions that attach with receiver tubes on each side. Works sweet. Some don"t think it will push 6" of snow, but it will!! We added lights, it works pretty good. I just thought these machines work 3 seasons for me, why not the fourth one? Only problem, the Kohlers have an icing issue in the carb on many winter days. I devised my own fix 4 years ago and it"s worked. Another problem you"ll notice in the picture, NO SNOW!

' is feet
" is inches

I'm assuming you had a 4' (foot) blade and added 1' (foot) to each end.

Do you mean 6" (inches) of snow, or 6' (feet)?

The biggest problem I see with that picture is NO CAB!!!!

Yea I know. You might think i'm crazy, but when I type ' on my messages it always comes out as " on this site. There are (2) 1 foot extensions on a 4 foot plow. And I meant 6 inches of snow. Bet that works.

I don't know why ' comes out as " during the first post, but what I found out works for me is that after typing a post, then clicking "Preview Your Reply", before clicking on "Submit Reply" after inputting my password, I "back arrow" back to where I typed my post, then "forward arrow" back to "Submit Reply", and the " will have changed back to the original ' before I click on "Submit Reply". Generally, I have to do that only after the first post, and am ok after that. A word of caution, before typing your post and clicking on "Preview Your Post" that first time that advances you to password, copy your post because sometimes, and I don't know why, when you back arrow back to the original post after entering your password, it gets erased, which can be a real pain if it was a longer post, or if you lose stuff you looked up just for that post, etc. It usually doesn;t happen, but once in awhile does, so beware. That way if it gets erased, you can paste it back in, then post it. I suppose I wouldn't have that problem if I didn't clean my cookies, but as a practice before shutting down my computer, I always do, always have.

By the way, that is a great looking piece of equipment.

OG How long does the rubber edge last. We have several people with that decroative brown rock driveway and that would be the thing there. Can,t put the metal edge on those brown rocks...

Maybe if you said 2x300mm [30cm],1x1200mm [120cm]
and 150 mm [15cm] of snow there would be no confusion. Working on 100mm [10cm]equals 4"[inches]
We used to have Imperial but the metrics are much better. The US Monetary works on decimals, so I think you are a little confused,Be Thankful it wasn't Pounds, shillings & nnalert. Guineas, Florins, halfpennies, farthings.AGH!!!!!

About two years of semi-decent use. Would be perfect for your application. We don't live in a frequent snow area, so it lasts pretty good for rubber. My backhoe pusher box has had the same rubber for 3-4 years now.

Do you have a picture of your backhoe pusher box?
I built a box blade for my old 580SE to push snow with if we ever get some like we have had in the past. Which isn't very often. I also built a blade for an old woods ztr for snow. My email is open.

i ran one of those when my sister and bil put in their back yard...it had a small bucket on it and tracks...took me about 3 trips to learn how to operate it...wouldnt mind having one around for finish work when the dozer is too big.

I think a thick Nylon or Teflon edge would work pretty good but the prices on that stuff put it right up there with white gold.

what is that thing??? I could have a ball, I mean get a lot of use outta something like it... You operate is standing up?

Yes, operate it standing up. It takes a little getting used to. The winter is really just filler season for it. We use them mostly through the rest of the year. Kind of takes the place of a guy or two and wheelbarrows, and comes to work every day!!! That machine has these attachments: larger and smaller bucket with teeth, broom, forks, auger with 9, 15 and 30 inch bits. Yes 30 inch. It is sweet for planting trees. We've planted a hundred big trees in a day with one on the auger and another ferrying trees with the forks and moving mulch with the bucket. They are quite handy.

I bought one already made, it's an Avalanche brand and 14 foot wide. It will plain out move some snow. We clear big lots with it, faster than 2 to 2.5 trucks I'd say.

jm, hope it works. I guess could have explained it more streamlined though.

1) type post
2) copy post in case gets blown up
3) click "Preview Your Reply"
4) input password, submit password
Will be at "Submit Post", if ' is ", go to step 5
5) back arrow to where typed post
6) forward arrow to submit post
Will be back at "Submit Post", ' should be ' now, so can now click "Submit Post"

Sometimes when back arrow to where typed post, and usually not, the typing is gone. If that's the case, just paste your typed post back into the box that you copied earlier.

I found this out by accident one time when mistyped or mispelled something and noticed that the ' became " as well. I back arrowed to correct the spelling, and said the heck with the ' being ", but when went back to post after correcting the spelling, I noticed the ' had fixed themselves back to ' as should be. BUT, a couple of times when I back arrowed to correct that, my typed post disappeared leaving a blank box. I learned my lesson after that that now I always drag my mouse over my post, turning it blue, then copy it before moving forward...as an ounce of prevention.

Good luck, and welcome to learn from my mistakes.
