G Model Allas Chalmbers

I have a 48 or 49 G. I need to know if the number one piston is closes to the radiator. Also i don't see any numbers on the distributer cap that lets me know what plug wire goes where.
Can someone help with this?

Hey Butch,I believe that the G's engine is mounted backwards.that means that #1 is at the back,away from the radiator.F/O is 1342(should be)Find tdc by the "thumb in plughole"method.Whearever the rotor points is #1.Determine the rotation of the distributor,then you should be set.Good luck,Steve

The #1 plug is toward the back of the tractor,not the seat.
Number one wire on the dist cap is next to the bell housing. Number# 2 wire is the very lowest on the cap. Now...all of this is from memory, hope thats right, if not, then its close.
