how much is a rebuildable 429 -4V worth these days ?/ ,, I have a acouple here and a third one with a 2 barrell , that came out of 69-71 mercury and Galxaies,, needin shed space for the tractor

Do you have any Boss 429 blocks? LOL!

A standard, everyday 429 is probably worth more at the scrap yard. Lots of iron in it.

awhtx is probably right... the 429 is simply a de-stroked 460, so they aren't uncommon.
The '69'71 -may- have some appeal for someone restoring a Ford of that vintage, so they could have a 'correct' engine.

thats a good idea ,, I will ,if anyone knows someone looking for a 429 , my email is open ,location is louisville ky area

As others have said, not a whole heck of a lot any more. The 4V heads use to be worth something too. I believe the head casting started out as C9** or D0**. Maybe someone interested in a correct restoration.

Problem is the price you will put into a complete rebuild on a set of heads is $$. You can get off the shelf aftermarket aluminum heads that will outflow stock heads by a mile. Not to mention save about 30 lbs per head. Last set of BBC heads I went through cost around $800, not including the heads, and the porting.

But I wouldn't toss the block w/o trying to advertise.

Good luck.
Rick

Ford is still rebuilding them for the larger gas trucks so they are still worth something, I notice some of the propane companies are still using the trucks with the 429. It was the 428 blocks you should have been saving..
