thanks for the responses on food dehydrators, My daughter likes dryed fruit but she doesnt like the additives that are put on them. She also likes to eat veggie chips , We looked at a bag of dehydrated vegetables in the store and beleive it or not they came from Tiawan! Ihave decided to make what she likes next season, with no chemicals or preservatives,I will do my best and give it a try, ... Larry

One other tip I learned. Cut the veggies/fruit a little thicker than you think. When the dry they do thin up a bit. My first batch I ever made turned out about as thick as paper.

Agree with you on the chemicals and importation.

You want to give her a real treat do up some watermelon. That stuff is addictive. It will be more like fruit roll (soft) but man is it sweet.
