Does This Look Right?

New trailer spring kit didn't come with instructions. Notice how front spring hanger is shorter and holes are in different spots on middle equalizer thing. Both springs are the same distance from frame in the picture. Did I put it together correctly?

Something sure isn't right. Usually at the end of each spring set there are strap hangers to account for the spring length changing as the load is applied.

I have never seen metal mounts that are that deep or drop that far. Also the center link is usually a cast peice, not more stamped. I"m not sure of why the center outer holes are diff position either, never saw that. It does seem like there should be a shackle link on at least One of the axles, thinking the rear one only.

Indeed, as Mike asks, what provision is there for the springs to lengthen as they flatten under load?
I agree with your installing them so the springs are equal height. Possibly certain axles should be tilted a little? But question number 1 above still bothers me.

Those are slipper springs, there is no hangers(links). The spring is only attached at the front. It looks right but need a better picture.

Yep...concerned about the spring lengthening too. The only way I see it is, the holes in the center link are offset so that it can pivot when the springs are flattened or when crossing a bump.

Here is a link showing the correct distance and there is also a manual you can download.

Ah-ha! The hanger kit box says slipper, but the springs have eyes on both ends for a bolt. Am I mismatched?

I think they gave me the wrong springs. I got a slipper hanger kit but not slipper springs. Thank you for your help folks. Especially Kurt. You're the best.

I can't see the picture but, I think the front of the trailer is to our right. That spring should be bolted thru the eye of the spring. The back of the spring should slip into the equalizer. the bolt should just keep it from falling out. that hole would be lower. Moving on back the back spring should be bolted thru the eye to the back of the equalizer. Then the longest spring hanger will have the slipper part of the spring, with the lower bolt keeping it from falling out. Think about it you will see it. Have fun Vic

No it sure don't look right, there is no link to allow the spring to ligthen when a load is applied. I would call or send this picture to the co. You need more parts!

After looking again, the left spring appears to a slip spring, but the curvature on the wheel is just in the right place to look like a slipper.Yes , you will have the wrong springs if they are not a pair of slip springs. some setups use all slip springs and some only use one set.

high hole is eye end of spring low hole is slipper end of spring hole is for bolt just to keep slipper end in walker. as stated all slipper ends go to the rear

sorry just looked again you have the wrong center bracket looks like your springs have a eye on each end you need a different center carrier
