I go to alot of farm shows where new ag equipment is shown. At these shows about every other vendor has a "Soultion". I think that is the new key word this past year in sales.
I think the only soultion most of them have is to get your money out of your back pocket and into theirs.
Any coments or thoughts?

I always tell them that I'm there to see what I might be able to afford 20 years in the future.

Still a lot of fun looking at things I gotta have that I haven't figured out what I need them for.

Until I talked to several salesmen at last years National Farm Machinery Show, I wasn't aware I had so many problems.

Just took a deposit on my '53 allis. A family farm nearly big enought to be called agribiz, slowly replacing their big greens with tiny orange. this would be their 3rd or 4th C and CA, and they want more Gee's and want to try another D series, which I had heroic stories about too! No sales pitches, mine are all gone to good homes. Seems the interest payments on the new stuff is more than picking up these antiques, and the mechanics tackle them without skipping a beat. Last spring a corporate tobacco place asked if I had any big tricycle and row crop JD's and farmalls....buying a small fleet of small Japanese diesels turned out to be a bad business decision... there might be hope for the world afterall...

They've been using that term in the computer world for at least ten years. Every program, application or piece of hardware is a 'solution'.

I'm not knocking it. I tried it when it first came out. Just that I'm as tired of that term as I was of hearing "wholesome" at every co-op meeting that I went to. Some terms when overused tend to start to wear on you.

I remember when I was a little fellow and the Ford 6000s came out,I wanted Dad to buy one in the worst kind of way. He told me they'd be cheaper when I grew up and I could buy a used one then. I still don't have one. Wanted an Oliver 1800 too. Settled for the improved 1850. Close enough for who it's for I guess.

Yea, just marketing blather. You can't just sell a product anymore, you need to sell a complete solution.
Marketing BS

Kind a like "hows that been working for ya?" and " that's a nice fit for ya" and "at the end of the day....." etc , etc. All trash talk invented by professional rip-off artists....er I mean sales professionals to help part you and your $$$$$$.
