Blondie's coming along!

Well, after the New Year break, she's back off to work, and the usual commute. Mom is still leary about driving her down, or at least, letting her drive down, so I still have to. She still pulls out of the lane slowly, and then changes into her 'Mario' routine. She even made it around a trash can that was close to the road on a curve this morning without hitting it. So, we've got the right side of the car somewhat down. She is still leery of curves. Either hits them too fast or too slow. But at least she's getting better. She's able to stay close to on the road thru them. She still say's she hates an 'S' about 4 miles from here. Now, if I could only get her to accelerate coming out of the curve instead of dropping down to a crawl, I'd feel a lot better. And, she still has trouble judging left turns. Guess that's a bit hard for a kid. But, I don't have to say as much or as often to see progress. She took off with her boyfriend on Saturday and Sunday, though, before I had a chance to get her down to the firehouse for some parking practice. She did manage to get the car into the parking lot straight yesterday, and btween the lines on the first try. But then, backwards today, again. Between the lines, but at an angle. And, yesterday, before we left, there was some frost on the windshield. Her comment- "you think I ought to clean it off?" I told her only if see thought she could drive without being able to see where she was going. She said,"Maybe I better. I can't see through it." Well, DUH. Lights are on, but no one's home.

Nah, no such luck. I'm about 20 miles south of York. Too close to to Baltimorons.

The parking and curve tracking issues together might indicate a depth perception problem.

Can she brake smoothly to a stop somewhere near the right spot relative to a stop sign or is it kind of irregular? Has she had an eye exam?

Now I"m worried, we are almost neighbors. I am over a little East of Gettysburg.

That's an information overload right now--

She had to have that for her learner's card. Brakng is coming along. Most of her problem right now is thinking ahead far enough to judge her speed before she does stuff, like left turns. Several are good, next one is hideous. Practice, practice--

Don't get too upset, yet. You can tell her to drive north from here, and she'd be lucky to hit the Pennsyltucky border in less than 1000 miles. Absolutely no sense of direction.
