Happy new yr!....and what do you get? A northern Mn. short wood skidder!! Neighbor got this from his Dad, and his tractor does not have enough hyd. to run it. So, after sitting 3/4 yrs, I"ll see if it still works. Are these common in other states as well? Thanks Bobmn

I am assuming the hydraulics are to load the wood. Never seen anything like it around here. Most folks around here just cut the wood to stove length off the tree and load it like that. If it's too heavy they split it on site.

A friend here in southern NH who produces firewood has one. It enables him to perform low impact thinning harvesting which a lot of landowners prefer.

Vice for holding chain saw while sharpening, nice. A couple of companies in Quebec make them. Right from ones small enough with self contained hydraulic to be pulled with a 4wd ATV to ones that hold a couple of cords.....Ron

A short wood skidder!
These were real commom a few years ago in northern Michigan.
The vice is probley for fixing the reusable ends on the hydrolic hose.
These were pulled with farm tractors and small dozers in this area.

Never saw one before- most just yard the logs full length with a tractor, or buck them up where they fall and haul with truck.

I can see one being handy if you're doing "peckerwood"- (small 3 or 4 inch stuff), that you're going to cut to size with a buzz saw back at the woodshed.

hello; Don't how much it will lift....yet! I'll hook it up to a tractor with good hyd. cause, I think the better the hyd. on the tractor, the more it will lift. I'm getting wood at the far northern part of the farm. (about 1/2 mile) with a good woods road and field road. May work out, and may not!! I'll post some pics of it working Thanks Bobmn
