Looking at advertisement for "FARM SHOW" Magazine, from Lakeville, MN. Is it any good--
Have you read it?

One of the few magazines worth paying for if you like to see homemade gizmos and a few new products on the market. Also has the farmers best/worst buys which are funny to read, many times the same product fits into both categories, someone hates it, the next guy loves it.

Yes.Taken it for years.Read it 'cover to cover'when it gets here, then reread it till the next issue comes.Well worth the cost.Steve

You'll probably enjoy it........at least for the short term. Subscribed to it for several years, but like many magazines, eventually there's not much that is 'new'. There'll be farmers all excited about something they've 'invented'..........which the rest of us have known about/made/used for years. I dropped my subscription years ago.

Wonderful entertainment but many things impractical. One comes to mind was a small Block Chevrolet engine in an International TD-24 with improved performance. During the long winters some of the northern USA and canadiam farmers do a lot of work in their shops.

I get it and enjoy it. most of the stuff is impractical but fun to read anyhow. I'm going to try building the 1 peice shop door.

I used to take the magazine and do not now. It seemed to me to have all kinds of stuff that would make you ask "even though you can build that, why would you?". I renewed my subscription with them and never did get another issue or get any money back even after numerous phone calls. They will never get another cent from me. As is said in the magazine, it is one of my "worst buys". Never again. Mike

Hi, guess the message from Thurlow would be my advice , although up to the present, continue to renew the subscription. Cheers

It is one of the best Farm magazines I subscribe too. Can't wait for the next issue to come. Lots of great ideas each month.

ah man--i didnt know that was still around.
its the best...specially if you like cut and weld. not many people do that cool stuff anymore.

my nephew bought some snowmobiles (to be cool)
i was telling him about farmshow. guys used to put wheels on thier snowmos so they could drive them all year. i saw that in there. he looked at me strange-lol.

If Rube Goldberg is one of your heros you'll love Farm Show. It's a good guidebook for innovators and gadjet makers and builders.

I have taken it for several years- have it in the "reading room" (bathroom) in my law office. Get some good comments from my male clients, but I don't think the women "get it".

have got it for several years,my first issue showed up when i won farmer idea contest it was one of the prizes. have been getting it ever since an have been feature in it several times. my current issues are also sent to me cause i have artices in it again. they are now wanting me to send them my minature square baler made entirely out of birch and operates off of electric motor. it makes 4" by whatever length bale i desire. last article was in 2010 issue under farm equipment assembly business. getting to be more commercial made items in it then when first started thou. If you enjoy machinery and different ideas or creations you would enjoy it. i probably have old issue laying around if you were close you could have or send to you if not that far.

Read one issue. They were pushing this guys "invention" of a WAM (wide area mower) like a golf course uses. Typically a John Deere or Toro, usually around 50hp.

Well, the "invention" a guy attached a piece of pipe to the back of his 20hp lawn mower and attached three 20" push mowers to each side of the pipe. This was his answer to a wide area mower. Other than maintaining 7 engines instead of one, and the fact that a push mower cannot mow grass nowhere at the same speed as a rider or a commerical mower.

There is probably one good idea in there for every 100 hairbrained ideas. It is somewhat amusing to read.

I highly recommend it, lot's of ideas for projects, interesting stories, and reviews of best and worst buys. I usually read it all the way through within a couple days.

Hillside.. I think you have it right.. Verry enteraning but from a pratical stanpoint some things people do in there just leave me wondering. But it is good reading material..
