Wife useta have a recipe for chicken that used a bottle of beer. The recipe specified "the cheapest beer available" which while I was stationed in Florida was Red, White & Blue.

Used that stuff once, poured the rest down the sink. I think we "upgraded" to PBR if I recall correctly. "8^)

And yer still admitt'n to drinkin' that stuff?

Back in the day, I used to throw down a few Little Kings (cream ale) from time to time. They were bottled by Schoenling Brewery (out of Cincinnati Ohio) They also sold a half gallon jug of mop squeezin's called BIG JUG BEER. It had a powerfully bad effect on the air quality on the morning after. Now that I think about it, Big Jug Beere had an equally unpleasant effect on me as it was being consumed. Only redeeming quality was it was dirt cheap.

Lets see, the gunk that comes out of the final drive on a D7 CAT that had run every day cleaning out cattle barns, with a bad seal...in the middle of a 100 degree summer day.....But your right, the smell of old gas is just something that sticks with you and doesn't even want to wash off.

When I was in Mayport Naval Station. We drank PBR until the money ran out. Then we started on real cheap BEER. I think it was 50 cents a six pack and a 1.25 a case. Can't remember the name of it. But then again there are a lot of things I don't remember about those nights.

When I was about 18, Dad had an old Model A Ford that had been parked for three-four years. I got the bright idea of starting it and playing with it a little. Cleaned plugs and points, decided to drain the fuel tank in case there was any condensation. Good grief! You could smell that stuff two-three hundred feet away. And it lingered for days. As NCWayne stated, the smell of stale gas does kinda stick with you, even if there are a lot of other things that smell just as bad.

Yup. In the 60s while in Vietnam following soldiers in the bush up a steep hill after eating C-rations for a week.
