Price for #2 Rock

What should we expect to pay for #2 rock by the yard at a quarry? Delivery is less than 10 miles.

We probably need 20 yards.

Dont know about where youre from but around here you buy rock by the ton.

About 2 tons per cubic yard. Can't quote you a firm price. Our local quarry has a minimum $20 fee, and $20 will be somewhere around 2 1/2 tons. I only haul 2 tons in my 3/4 ton pickup, so it always costs me $20.

About a year ago it cost $200 for a tandem load of CA-10, delivered almost 20 loaded miles. That included the delivery of course.

You can call the quarry - they'll give you the prices over the phone, and also the names of local reliable truckers.

By the ton,the last I bought was $8.35t and I would guess $3.50 a ton for freight.

That question can't be answered here to many variables. Call the quarry tomorrow morning and ask then you will know. If you need delivery call a trucking company and ask for a delivered price.

15.50 a ton regardless of rock size delivered in 10 ton loads on a single axle. 330.00 for 23 ton loads on a triaxle. 10 miles to quarry.

i work at a gravel plant, here it is 11.50 a ton, picked up at the plant, gravel price is not a set deal though understand the price a mine owner charges for his gravel is based on numerous costs, equipment, labor to run that equipment, insurance, msha and epa permits, [ a huge cost these days!] also the price of diesel fuel pays a big part, the owner has to add up all his costs, make a small profit, and still be competitive, not easy, for info on the price of diesel, its not the cost of the diesel in the truck that brings you the gravel that your paying for, its the overall cost of fuel to produce the product, when the crusher is running we burn, on average around 800 gallons of diesel a DAY, that cost has to be blended into the all the final products produced at the plant on a percent per ton basis, operating costs varry widely per region of the country as well as the type of mining going on to obtain the raw material to produce the gravel changes the operaters cost to produce
