God Bless those that are protecting us tonight. They are missing their families so we may enjoy our own. They can be the policeman or fireman serving their community or the good men and women serving in our armed services. They are putting themselves in harms way so we all can enjoy the freedoms we have.

I am bless to have two young people serving from my family. My oldest grandson, Grant, has fully recovered from his wounds. He is in Afghanistan again. He volunteered to rotate back so someone with family can be home. My second oldest grand daughter is currently serving in the Air Force support group in Germany. They make this old man proud.

I hope you folks who have family serving this season, know how thankfull the rest of us are. I for one appreciate the sacrifices they make to keep us safe.

Thanks JDSeller. I like you have family serving.
Eldest is in USN and home on leave, youngest is a Marine. This will be last Christmas together for awhile.

My nephew is over in Afghanistan in the Army. God Bless and keep them all.

You should be proud, having two members of your family serving our country. May God look after them. My youngest daughter will be missing from our Christmas meal, as she works for the San Diego Fire dept, and has to be at her station Christmas day. Unlike the military my daughter will be home the next day. Stan

i agree with bob, my family also appreciates very much what our service men/women do to keep us safe. a couple of our local service groups have made a commitment to send a box with goodies to each and every service person deployed from our local military unit once a month until they get back safe and sound. we also have a rouster of handy people who will go when called to help their families with simple repairs on their home if needed. when one does return we put flags up on main street with yellow ribbons on them. this isn't much but helps to let them know we have not forgotten them and also sets and example to our youngsters that we must always support these heros.
i've made a commitment not to get off topic on this website like i have in the past, but i think this subject is a worthy exception.
if not i apologize to the people who make this website and forum possible.

Hi JDseller,
Tell your family THANK YOU for their selfless service. I too have a son in Kuwait for his 2nd tour of duty. Take care and I wish you and your family a very Blessed Merry Christmas.

My sister is an RN and at work all weekend. She spent many years in home care working with the dying, at night and on Holidays. There are many at work tonight and tommorrow that deserve our thanks. and, lets not forget those that are suffering no matter what; be it from the death of a loved one, illness, lonliness, or poverty.
