Merry Christmas

I went to the post office this morning to get the mail and there was 2 boxes for me that wouldnt fit in the little cubby hole. As the mail lady gave these to me she says "Happy Holidays" I look right back at her and said "Umm....I think you mean Merry Christmas" She says "Merry Christmas" I said "Merry Christmas to you to"

I usually say to that something like "Thank you" and by the way, just what are those Holidays???? Of course, one answer could be Christmas and New Years and Hannukah which they may or may not wish to actually come out and say, but thats their free choice I respect if they dont feel comfortable saying any of those words. I feel quite comfortable saying any of them and if others believe in tolerance and diversity and dont wish to impose their beliefs on others (by prohibiting such expression) then I guess they will tolerate me if I say it, ya think????????????

I think the "War on Christmas" is regional. You guys have gotten me looking for evidence, and it is lacking in my area. Yesterday we were in WalMart where I know quite a few of the local workers, and several of them hollered "Merry Christmas!" to me, in a booming voice, half way across the store. Same situation in Lowes, Kroger, Golden Corral and Buchheit's. Virtually every sales person, every stranger that I acknowledged, every contact of any sort was very comfortable with expressing Merry Christmas to me. I guess I'm living a sheltered life, but then I don't think it will eat me up if someone does say Happy Holidays. To each his own.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
