Buying parts these days gives me gas.. came back from the locl JD dealer. Had to order a ball joint for a 6400 with MFWD. One number came up, then sub number came up. Asked what the difference was in two pieces of steel about six inches long, one and a half iches thick and a piece of rubber. Old number was $109, and the new number was $170!

Last summer, went to New Holland deler for parts for a rake-tedder. Little paddle like bolt, about 6" long, like a bolt with a paddle welded on top cost me $7 when I got one a couple of years ago. They were now up to $64.

Who do these guys think they're selling to? The US Government?

Couldn't make the ball joint, but made my own paddle bolt for less than $1.50, including paint. But these manufacturers are going crazy on these parts prices---

Had to go to GM dealer to buy the plastic rivets to hold the plastic trim onto the bottom of the front bumper on my HD2500....$5.98 each, takes 9.
RIGHT!!! hello zip ties!

The Chinese aren't putting American companies out of business, the American companies are putting themselves out of business.

Don,

Thought I recognized the voice . I have

the middle section of a 46-- tractor from them

to bore and repair the pto bearing in the front

of the clutch housing. Must be a regular failure

as the job comes with repair procedure . The

change is from straight roller bearing to

tapered roller bearing.

My '86 F150, (and several other years) has a center cap on the wheels that is held on with three counter-sunk type screws. 10-12 years ago they were less than a dollar each. About a month ago I went to the local dealer and the darned things are over $6.00 each! And there is a total of 12 on the truck. I said no, thanks, If I have to I'll just buy a set of cheap wheel covers.

Man, am I in trouble. Why aren't you doing sumthin constructive? It's after midnight.

By the way, that 46-- isn't made by AGCO is it? Hear they've been coming apart at the seams. Took Sam's 4010 over to Jones last summer with a busted frame rail- wasn"t sure I'd get it off the trailer. Whole front end was flopping around, only held together by an over built toolbox bracket. Hear AGCO have been pulling apart at the engine to tranny bolts--
