Fall tillage (pics)

Bought this old 7 ft. Killefer disk at auction and got it off the trailer today. It was a balmy 37 degrees so I started the 720 D up and went over the wife's garden a couple of times to try it out. Didn't do to bad figuring there was frost in the ground.

Nice pics, looks like the old 720 and disc do good work. How many two cylinders are in the background of that first picture?!

where do you live that is THAT dry? seriously? ? ? WOW!

I'm jealous. It will be later march before I can think of doing anything.

I'm in South Dakota. We haven't had any measurable rain since Sept. Ground is froze though. I have a Lindeman crawler under the tree, a 730 Mexican AF, 720 gas standard, 620 RC, 730 D RC, 430 W, 430 U, 330 S, 1010 S sitting out there. I need a shed but have plans to be moving so have been holding off.

Nice pics. Nice to see an old two banger at work. You must be somewhere fairly close to my neck of the woods. When I was V ripping this fall a cloud of dust came up from the ripper. Just a plain old five shank ripper! Jim

It looks llike you have the blades set almost parallel to your direction of travel in that fourth photo. Did you make every pass like that?
That leaves a pretty fine topsoil that will blow away quickly. You might want to rough it up with something else.

I think it is just the angle of the picture. The blades are set at a pretty good angle when you look right at it. The wind never blows around here. Yea right! It is just a little garden patch I wanted to try it out on as long as I had it hooked up to get it off the trailer anyway so am not to worried about it blowing away.
