Cam Shaft replace Int. Harv.

I am looking into rebuilding a Int. Harv. engine C123 and was wondering about the cam and what to do about bearings that are not there. Should this block be bored out to accept bearings or just re-install the cam into the block the way it was (no bearings)Thanks, Butch. Also, any info about where to purchase rebuild kits?

What makes you think the cam journals are bad. Ive been thru lots of them and havent seen a bad one yet. If the oil pump is in shape you will have good oil pressure. I think you are trying to fix something that dont need fixing. Boring and sleeving them would be cost terrible.

I would pull the Camshaft, assess the journals and make the call. Personally, I would be inclined to if there is any wear, but you can look at acceptable tolerances.

The cam "bearings" maybe fine. However you can bet the lobes and cam followers need to be trued up.
You can't eyeball cam lobes and lifters and measure wear.
Many engines that are still low on power and/or run rough after a rebuild. Suffer from an old re-used cam.
