It got down to +7.4 at 6:30 this morning. Fog rose up from the lake and the Mohawk valley, to put a Holliday coating on everything around Clinton Camp Farm. All the Pics. were taken bout 9:00 am on my way to cut more wood for next year.
I'm finally getting ahead of the wood cutting.

+43 here in N MN today, but I did put my fish house out on 9" of ice with the 4-wheeler! Awful neat wood pile, must be for sale! I put mine on pallets too, but not that neat, sometimes I can pick up the pallet without it falling off.

To keep each 16'x 7' segment tight I have a nylon rope and cheap cargo strap binding them together from the pallet up and over to the other end.

we had 10 above this morning, near binghamton. it was the coldest morning so far this season for us, too. no snow here either. cutting all that wood should keep you warm twice, and in shape.

The Asian Ash Bore has hit us hard in the last 3 years, and most trees are dieing.
Ash fire wood is great, because it burns hot, and there is little ash to deal with when it burns up. There is also a lot of Maple mixed in from the Thanksgiving ice storm we had. Between Huricain Irene and the ice I have plenty of wood laying on the ground for the next few years.

Trying to make me sick looking at that neat wood stack. I cut it, toss it in to truck, goes to splitter, in to loader bucket, dumped at back door. Did you notice stacking wasn't in there no where
