I changed the filter and got pressure back. Drove home about 20 miles and again lost all oil pressure near the house. Rolled up in the driveway and changed the oil. Started it up and had about 30 psi of pressure.Pressure stayed on another 20 miles to and from the auto parts.Changed out the sending unit and the pressure jumped to 50 psi and has held. What a B*tch changing that sending unit. I am 6'3", 250 lbs and I don't fit well on top of a 360 Dodge engine. The unit is to the left of the distributor, approx. under the radio. Thanks to all for the comments.

ah ya can't beat a good old fashioned Stewart and Warner mech. gauge. And i can relate to the joys of working on cars and trucks , that is why i only do my own when i have to. Years back i had to work on the war Dept.'s car one day when my girls were little and my oldest daughter asked mommy if she could go out and help Daddy cause she knew all the wright words to help fix it.

I changed the sending unit on my old Cougar and it was an odd size. I think it was 25/32 and I had to borrow a socket from one of my co-worker's. I pulled the left front tire so you had more room. I had to use a long extension to be able to reach it. Hal

I hear ya on the pains of changing the sending unit. I changed the one on my 05 silverado with the 5.3 V8 in it last night. It's buried in at the back of the engine on the top of the block. Forearms and hands are a little boogered up from it.
